Teen Privacy Notice

This Teen Privacy Notice supplements our Privacy Policy and describes the additional protections Kinset provides for teen members (ages 13 to 17). If you are a teen using Kinset, this notice is for you.

1. How You Join Kinset

You cannot create a Kinset account on your own. To join, your parent or legal guardian must:

1. Be an existing household owner on Kinset.
2. Create a teen invitation for you, providing your name and date of birth.
3. Complete the Guardian Authorization process, which includes reviewing what data the household can and cannot see about you and confirming five specific authorization statements.

After your guardian completes authorization, you receive an invitation link. You then review the household's data practices and confirm your own acceptance before joining. Joining is your choice. You can decline the invitation, and no profile or data will be created.

2. What Data We Collect About You

We collect the same categories of data described in our Privacy Policy. As a teen member, you have full access to all Kinset features: creating routines, logging workouts, using coaching tools, and participating in joint sessions.

3. What Your Household Can and Cannot See

Your household can see

• Your display name and role (teen).
• Joint workout session data when you train with household members (exercises, weights, sets, reps during that session).
• Personal records and feed items you choose to share.

Your household cannot see

Your household owner and other members cannot see:

• Your date of birth.
• Your body weight.
• Your recovery status or soreness check-ins.
• Your pain or injury information.
• Your solo workout details.

These protections are enforced on the server. The household owner administers membership and guardian authorization but does not automatically receive your private health data.

4. Training Safety

Kinset applies age-appropriate training parameters to your workouts based on published guidelines from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA, 2009) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP, 2020).

These parameters affect what Kinset prescribes (rep ranges, intensity limits, exercise selection), but they never restrict what you can log. If you perform a set outside the prescribed parameters, Kinset records it with a quiet advisory, not a warning or block. The app records reality.

Your guardian sets your competency tier, which determines the specific training parameters that apply. Tier promotions require guardian approval.

5. No Ads, No Trackers

Kinset does not serve advertisements on any surface. We do not use third-party analytics trackers. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

6. Your Rights

As a teen member, you have the right to:

• See your data: View your profile, workout history, and recovery through the app.
• Control sharing: Choose which personal records and feed items to share with the household.
• Decline to provide optional data: Body weight, soreness check-ins, and difficulty ratings are always optional.

Data managed by your guardian

Because you joined through guardian authorization, certain account actions are managed by your guardian:

• Account deletion: Your guardian can withdraw authorization, which ends your access and begins deletion of your data.
• Data export: Your guardian can request a data export on your behalf.

When you turn 18, Kinset transitions you to adult status. Guardian authority over your account ends, and you gain full control over your own account, including deletion and export.

7. Your Guardian's Authorization

Your guardian authorized your participation by confirming specific statements about their identity, your identity, and their understanding of Kinset's data practices. You can ask your guardian about what they authorized. The full authorization statements are published at Guardian Authorization.

Your guardian can withdraw authorization at any time. If they do, your access ends immediately and your data begins deletion.
